Lioncourt Homes and HFT Break Ground on New Site in Ironbridge
Multi award-winning housebuilder, Lioncourt Homes has finalised a deal with learning disability charity, Hft, to deliver 80 new homes off Beech Road in Ironbridge. Today, the charity and housebuilder attended a celebratory event to mark the start of construction on site.
In a first for the housebuilder, the new development will include a collection of supported living houses and bungalows, aimed at integrating existing Hft residents within the wider community.
Currently, the brownfield site is home to Hft residents living within multi-occupancy bungalows and houses dating back to the 1980s. The redevelopment of the site, which is to be called Heritage Walk, will house Hft residents in 12 supported living properties, providing a community-based supported living environment. The fully-adaptable homes will include shared communal spaces and kitchens, private gardens and parking.
Following today’s groundbreaking event, the initial groundworks will commence this week with demolition of the existing buildings expected to start next month (November).
