Lioncourt Homes acquires new site in Leigh Sinton, Malvern

Multi award-winning housebuilder, Lioncourt Homes has acquired an 8.1 acre site off the A4103 in Leigh Sinton, Malvern Hills, just five miles from Worcester.

Planning permission has previously been granted for 52 new homes on the site, 40% of which will be affordable properties.

Rachel Cartwright, Land Director at Lioncourt Homes, said: “Leigh Sinton is a fantastic place to live, with a corner shop, village pub and primary school, all within walking distance of the site. There is a great community feel in the village and it is our hope that the future homes delivered on this site will help to meet the local demand for new, high quality properties.

“We are very excited to have acquired such a desirable site and are now looking forward to starting work later this year.”

Prior to acquiring the site, Lioncourt Homes submitted a reserved matters planning application, including house styles and the range of properties that it hopes to deliver. Designed to be sympathetic to the local area, the terraced, semi-detached and detached houses will feature red brick facades, some with mock Tudor details. Many of the homes will include sustainable features such as air source heat pumps, EV charging points and solar panels.

The scheme will provide 40% green infrastructure on site which includes formal and informal open space including a children’s play area. Where possible, the housebuilder will preserve existing habitats and create new biodiversity areas to support the local wildlife within this green space and the wider site. The land north of the development will remain as open, recreational space for community sports and a safe pedestrian route will be created for those walking between the site and the local primary school, and into the village.

The land was promoted by PlanIT Planning and Development, with the sale overseen by Furlong Land Limited on behalf of the land owner.

Rachel continued: “As a Worcester based company, we are passionate about delivering high quality, sustainable developments across the county. In addition to this site in Leigh Sinton, we have also recently started work on two other sites in Worcestershire; delivering 83 homes in Martley and 120 properties in Rushwick.

“Creating a sense of place amongst our developments is incredibly important to us and we look forward to working with the communities across all these locations.”

Based in Worcester, Lioncourt Homes is one of the fastest growing housebuilders in the country and has received numerous accolades, including the HBF five star quality housebuilder rating for customer satisfaction for 10 successive years.
