A care worker from Worcester has secured a brand-new home with Lioncourt Homes, swapping a one-bedroom flat in Whittington for a two-bedroom house in Rushwick, while maintaining similar monthly costs.

Lauren Tudge, 25, had not planned to move west of the River Severn, but a visit to The Green with her family quickly changed her mind.

Previously living in her leasehold flat, ongoing costs for service charges and maintenance left the residential care worker seeking a more viable long-term option, and originally sought a new-build property on Worcester’s eastern side.

That search proved unsuccessful, with no options offering the space, flexibility and value for money she needed.

Validated by her grandmother Marion saying she felt at home at The Green, Lauren was drawn by how different the development was to others in the area and has since made the move to a two-bedroom home, The Poplar, with cats Rosie and Blossom.

Lauren said: “I’d wanted a newbuild and had looked around online and viewed certain developments in Worcester, including a three-bedroom house.

Following her initial search, Lauren then discovered The Green in Rushwick, somewhere she hadn’t previously considered.

“I have a friend that has bought with another housebuilder, and I had looked at different new build developments. When viewing, I found this home felt much bigger, generally nicer, and still had everything, while none of the gardens are overlooked. Me, Mum and Nan were all in agreement that we loved it.”

After reserving quickly to ensure she could secure The Poplar, Lauren praised the support she received throughout the sales process, and the extension into aftercare post-completion, as well as the quality of her new home.

“The Lioncourt experience was amazing. When I bought my home, it was just a square on the ground, and Natalie from Sales was an absolute star; sending me photos and updates every time something new happened and allowing me to visit my chosen house style at the nearby development in Martley.

“We were all stunned at how well the home was finished, and what was included: integrated appliances, and the option to choose my kitchen tiles and flooring.

“At my previous flat, handles were falling off, things were going wrong, and maintenance was doing nothing. Whereas now, I’m paying the same for a much bigger, fresher space, where any problems that crop up are tended to straight away.”
